In 2009, Clarke’s three-year-old daughter, Dakota, was born with septo-optic dysplasia, in which part of her brain and her optic nerve did not develop, leaving her almost blind and suffering with balance issues. Dakota went to Beike clinic where she received six injections of stem cells over the course of a month.
The little girl’s parents say they have seen an improvement in her vision after four injections.
“My daughter’s seeing things. For the first time my daughter is seeing things,” says Wilma Clarke. “I know she is seeing because she is a completely different child.”

In 2008, Macie Morse received her first round of stem cells to treat blindness caused by optic nerve hypoplasia. After this treatment her vision had improved to a level where she could get her driver’s license. We caught up with Macie and her mother during a second round of adult stem cell treatments in 2010. Macie’s story has been covered extensively by international news outlets. In 2008 a US television production crew attempted an intervention to prevent Macie from coming the first time. Macie’s parents raised her without teaching her Braille or focusing much on her blindness. At 15, Macie did not know her visual abilities would keep her out of fighter-pilot school, F1 competition and all other normal driving activities. In 2020, a special project for the prevention and control of new-type coronavirus technology was launched in Guangdong province. The Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology elected Beike Biotechnology together with Shenzhen Third People’s Hospital to treat patients with new coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) for Guangdong province patients funded by Guangdong Province’s Special Fund for Science and Technology Innovation 2020 under Guangdong Provincial Emergency Response Project for the Prevention and Control of New Coronaviruses, COVID-19.
